Welcome! My name is Julie. I’m a southern-ish Ohioan spitfire, born in Memphis and in denial about how long ago.
I’m a mom to 5 pillars who happen to be quite handsome men, 2 beautiful daughters in law and Mimi to one remarkable little boy. In 2017, Steve Ferguson and I said “I do”, blended our families and hit the road on what has already proven to be fascinating journey. He calls me his queen. Don’t let that fool you though, my crown gets wonky every so often because after all, I have big hair and an attitude. I’m learning to adjust my crown, shake out the mess and with my eyes on Jesus get to the business of bringing His message to as many as will listen.
Ever read Psalm 71? One of the most influential Kings on earth penned the words in this particular poetic discourse with Father God. His expression of vulnerable yet confident lyrics in this chapter, in many ways, is the inspiration behind the the reason I started this blog. It’s behind the reason I just HAVE to break out the harp in my heart and tell all the things God is and has and wants for every human ever created. King David went through a heck of a lot of suffering. Some of it was because, well, he made some really stupid choices. But some of it was also heart-wrenching loss that couldn’t always be explained. I can relate.
Yet, what David said of his childhood, knowing God created him as a miracle and supported him for his whole lifetime. I can relate to that too. I learned very early in life about a God who was not going to leave me. While I don’t profess to be a poet, I have a story to tell and nothing will stop me! I’m here for you, with my voice and a virtual pen and all kinds of words from all kinds of moments in time.
My heart’s cry to Father God is just like David’s, “Give me grace to demonstrate to the next generation, all your MIGHTY miracles and your EXCITEMENT, to show them your magnificent power!”
